We offer for your consideration an black silk Edwardian top/blouse in the classic Titanic style so highly sought after by collectors and re-enactment actors.
This black silk piece has 3/4 length sleeves (15" long) with and additional 3" with the black fringe attached at the sleeve bottom. The front has a dickie with six round "acorn" buttons covered in the same black silk fabric.
Drop waist features an attached belt that ties and drapes to the side. The bottom of this top/blouse has two front panels that hang separately and a single panel in the back.
This piece would have been worn over a skirt or dress. This garment is in good condition for age but has some areas that have been repaired and some that need repair.
No major rips or holes just needs repair at the seams and the dickie is loose on one side (snaps on the other). We considered repair but thought it best to allow the new owner to repair as he/she thought best. A wonderful find from a local antique shop that specializes in Edwardian/Titanic clothing!
It is a small size and measures 13 1/2" across the shoulders; 15 1/2" armpit to armpit; 13 1/2" across waist; and, the hip is loose fitting due to the three individual panels that form the lower portion of the top/blouse. Overall length is approximately 36".
