cents/hour if this thing sells. I'm quitting the plate thing when they are gone and going into clothes. Or maybe I should go to McDonald's :banghead:

I really don't know how people do this.

5. Maybe it's because I started using this "Auctiva" auction program
http://www.auctiva.com/account/welcometoauctiva.aspx

I really like the backgrounds that you can chose. Like the dark blue one I have up on this auction. But maybe it is just not worth the trouble I think I did not have these types of problems a couple years ago when I used to list just with EBAY.

Maybe I'll try one more time. Other than that I think I should go out on a street corner and hope people think I'm selling something besides ME!

8. I use Auctiva too
once you get used to it and get all the prefilled items pre-filled (that can be a little confusing), it's a lot better than Turbolister or the boring old "list your item" form.

For goodness' sake, wait, wait, we're not going to resort to street corners at this point!!!! :)

3. I am an eBay seller too.
Are you just selling the plates because you bought a bunch of the damn things cheap, but you hate them? It's a LOT more fun if you love the kind of things you're selling. Is there something you collect? Don't give up...better to be your own boss and set your own hours. If you're having trouble with something specific, let me know, I'll try to help.

6. Yea I ended up with the things because my mother gave them to me
I'd rather sell shoes and clothes and I have a few to start with. I've heard of people going to thrift stores and getting good things and selling them. I've done it a few times and it's worked out well.

What do you sell? You can post your links here if you want, (unless they are in the "adult" section in which I'd like to see anyway.

9. A friend of mine makes a pretty decent living selling clothes on eBay
she hits the local thrift stores daily and buys new and gently worn items ~ in our town the proceeds from the thrift stores benefit the local schools, and people really want the schools to prosper, so they think of the schools first when they clean out their closets. Here are a couple of her eBay item numbers - just copy and paste in the eBay search bar (hope that's OK with DU). She's the coolest person ever and a great friend. Look at her "about me" page too. 200213321166, 200212573912

11. Dad Gum! I'm a little jealous is that ok? But then again It is another idea
I have a friend who has thousands and thousands of old albums who is considering selling them and letting me list them

Did you get your from a group at a garage sale? I just bought a big forged aluminum thingy which I know nothing about. I think I get too many different things.

13. Once I sold a bunch of AVON stuff I didn't need anymore and was
thrilled that I got $35 for a bunch of samples, a few books and some other things that I didn't need.

Anyway I screw up the shipping and it cost me $15. I wanted to scream. I've since leaned that you have to put your zip code in AND add a few bucks for handling. The buyer won't see the handling costs. They just see it as part of the shipping and everyone does it and it says somewhere that you should do it. I put in $2 - $3 depending on if I'm going to have to buy a box.

15. FWIW, when you find something you think would sell, think about how
much it weighs and if you would have to do special packaging. Lots of people back away from items because the shipping is so high, and since all shippers have raised their prices, I can't blame them. I know I stopped selling a lot of things that didn't even weigh too much but exceeded the new PO guidelines for excessive size.
