"Back to Basics" Reader's Digest-1981 plus bonus Square Foot Gardening-$15 w/shipping
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 10:15 AM by fed-up
This is my first post in marketplace. I am not sure of the rules regarding selling items here so please let me know if I am violating any rules.

I have a hardback copy of "Back to Basics" How to Learn and Enjoy Traditional American Skills
Published by Reader's Digest, 1981 in very good condition with some light age-toning to pages.
This book is a wonderful resource for anyone wanting to learn how to do things "the old fashioned way"

Table of Contents:
Land: Buying It-Building on It
Energy From Wood, Water, Wind and Sun
Raising Your Own Vegetables, Fruit, and Livestock
Enjoying Your Harvest the Year Round
Skills and Crafts for House and Homestead
Recreation at Home and in the Wild

included is a bonus much loved and well used paperback copy of "Square Foot Gardening" by Mel Bartholomew, Rodale Press, 1981
there is a dampstain to the top right corner of textblock-3"H x 3"W, does not affect text, cover and edge of textblock is moderately soiled, 1" tear to bottom center of rear cover, else text is tight and fully useable!

Price is $15 including media mail shipping which can take from 1-3 weeks. Payment can be check, money order or PayPal.

pm me if interested

1. Both are excellent additions to the self-sufficiency bookshelf.
Square-Foot Gardening is of course an excellent book for any beginning gardener. Perfect for gardening in small spaces.

2. Just wanted to let you know that you can scan a copy of a page of
a book or the front or back cover and it will come out beautiful. The pictures I have up on the thread here were taken with a camera before I remembered the old scanner trick so they are not as good as a scanned pic.

(ps you can scan a lot of things. I used to post pictures of my jewelry that I had scanned. You just put a plastic clear sheet over the scanner glass, pull the lid down almost to the jewelry and then cover the lid with a white cloth.

Here is an example:

3. I need to install scanning software on my computer which I will do next week
when I remember where I put it when I move a year and a half ago.

I have been busy getting stuff together for a yard sale-and helping the couple that were poisoned from the former meth lab where the county did not test the mobile homes on the property (as required by law) and then 8 months later he bulldozed them and set them on fire. At least with my house, I know the house is okay, it is the shed that is most likely toxic...

I had my scanner hooked up on my old computer, this computer has its own software for a scanner, but I am having a hard time figuring out how to use it.

I also have to learn how to download a new browser if I want to sell stuff on ebay since Paypal will no longer accept Safari.

Too much for my overwhelmed brain to handle at this point and short term memory deficits/pain make learning new tech stuff a tad more difficult. :)

Too much on my plate this week!
