Does the liquidity crisis end now? Will the credit markets thaw? |

If there is no bailout bill on the horizon, why not open up the coffers and get back to business? So we lose a few investment banks and rich folks and risky investors take a hit. Why should taxpayers have to suffer too?

Trillions of dollars of "value" were put on the books that never really existed. What's happening now is that everybody is being forced to realize/admit that it never existed. These banks are failing because they did not have the assets they claimed to have.
