I want to trade top quality mink coat for swimming pool in Dallas county.
Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 03:54 PM by PinkPantherChick
Yup, I am serious. I have a brand new, value $10,000 ranch mink with matching mittens and am looking for a Dallas pool company or pool person who will trade the coat and mittens for pool and install. Please help me find somebody. I bought this coat in the Clinton years when I had some money and now I am in the * years with a disability and not able to work. This coat is worth every penny and I have had it in professional storage with clean/conditioning done regulalrly. I have a disability and need the pool for rehabilitation exercises and the pool I already have is too small to do me any good. I need at least 18' x 30', preferrably in ground but will gladly accept above ground that has a sloping liner for a deep end of 8-10' for diving. My doctor says swimming laps will help my spine and legs when I have spinal cord surgery done in the fall. Send questions to my personal email:

1. You might try ebay.. Not gonna find too many "fur lovers" at DU
(I would suspect).. Most of us here prefer the fur to be worn by the "original owners"..

Good luck on the surgery..My son had back surgery a few months ago, and is recovering nicely..hope yours goes well too :hi:

2. Actually fur does not have much of a resale value.
I doubt if you could even get 1/4 of the market price.

3. Yes, I know but I have to try
I really need the pool and I hope somebody will want it around Christmas time. All I need DU to do is help me spread the word. I got to get that pool in by next spring for my spinal surgery cause access to a public pool costs a ton of cash. Thanks for anyone who can get the word out for me..... :)

4. Do you know about craigslist.org? You can post your message

for free and for a local audience, not nationwide! See:

http://dallas.craigslist.org/

Looks like you might want clothes and accessories which is:

http://dallas.craigslist.org/clo/

Also, check out the Dallas-Ft. Worth "barter" section, at:

http://dallas.craigslist.org/bar/

There are some pretty interesting things posted there this evening! It couldn't hurt. Check it out.

The clothing page does have some fur items posted there this evening, but I didn't see anything in that price range. Not sure if the folks looking at this site would be the kind of person with bucks to spend, but at least you'd be dealing with local people. (Too bad you're not in Las Vegas or Hollywood!)

I'm trying to think how to reach the "high society" folk who might really be interested in this item. I'll PM you if I come up with any more ideas.

PS. PinkPantherChick, I assume you are in Dallas, TX, is that correct? If not, you'll have to find the nearest city to you.

Good luck with your health situation. My husband had spinal surgery in 1995 (his third operation). He's doing fine now.

In peace,

Radio Lady

5. PinkPantherChick, did you try craigslist.org?

Please see my previous message. This free service will reach local people so you might have a chance to find someone.

It worked for me (I only had a twin bed to sell...)

I'll try to PM you with this information in case you're not checking replies to your post.

Warm regards (really warm in Portland today!)

6. Thank you so much for the info!
I never heard of "craig" but I will be sure to check it out. My coat is so beautiful and I wish someone who wants to barter would check into it. Someone would be so HAPPY to have this coat and I would be happy to have the pool that I need. Thanks!

7. PinkPantherChick, you might just try to sell the coat outright --
I don't know how much pools cost in your area, but you could check that out. Maybe you'd have a bigger "pool" (No pun!) of possible purchasers if you could uncouple one need (selling the coat) from the other (building the pool). Just a thought!

Making peace a priority,

Radio Lady
