Zazzle vs. CafePress vs. whatever other alternatives?

Does anyone have opinions or experience with using Zazzle, CafePress, or other print-on-demand vendors to set up a shop for non-book products such as bumperstickers, T-shirts, mugs, and such? I vaguely recall that there was some controversy on DU about CafePress some time ago but I don't recall any details.

It's a free art and design hosting site that does print-on-demand cards, art prints, stickers, t-shirts and other apparel. It's an Australian company, but the printing (at least for American orders) is done by contract print shops here in the US. Print quality is excellent, bulk discounts apply, other people buy your stuff and you get paid, and it's a great global community of artists. Not the full range of product that zazzle or cafepress do, but still great.

Society6, which is also free, features great prints and some other odd items like iPod/iPad skins.

I hadn't even heard of redbubble before. I'm kind of leaning toward zazzle right now.

BTW, your art is interesting and rather unique. I lean toward nature photography so I liked the Cape Blanco pic.

3. I run Zazzle Shops and I do pretty well there.

I would definitely recommend Zazzle.

I don't want to step on CafePress's toes, but the controversy you may have heard a while back was that they changed from letting the seller determine the price and it's now at a flat rate of 10%.

At Zazzle you can set your royalty percentage at anything you want above 10%. The shops are free to run (unlike CafePress where they charge a fee for a premium store). And it's pretty user friendly. Zazzle also has a great affliate program, so if you don't want to sell items, you can promote other people's items and make 15% from it.

The person above also mentioned RedBubble - and I haven't heard anything bad about them, but I don't have experience with them.
