Sam Harris and Andrew Sullivan to dialogue about faith.
Edited on Tue Jan-16-07 08:05 PM by Heaven and Earth
Should be interesting.

Most Americans oppose violence spurred by religious fundamentalism, but few agree on how to address it. In books like The End of Faith and Letter to a Christian Nation, author Sam Harris contends that religion itself--not its more extreme forms--is to blame. This week, Harris debates blogger and Conservative Soul author Andrew Sullivan in a no-holds-barred "blogalogue." Return here to see Harris' next post--and check Andrew Sullivan's blog for his responses.

7. I'd love to see
Harris debate a liberal religious person. I thought Sullivan was a conservative blogger. Sure he is gay and at odds with some conservatives but he is still a conservative.

The last debate I saw was between Harris and Dennis Prager who is right wing. That was a disappointing debate. I think it would be more interesting to see Harris debate a very liberal Christian leader or a Reform Rabbi.

8. Take into account....
...that Prager is an idiot, and you won't be disappointed.

9. Yes, Prager is an ass
and an idiot. I am not fond of him. He is one of those guys who preaches one thing and does something else. Hopefully the Sullivan vs. Harris will be a good and educational exchange. I hope not to miss the debate.
