4. You have? Thanks for making me aware of that possibility.
I recently became a Buddhist myself.

6. I don't have a group yet, but the closest is a Zen Center.
So I will probably practice there eventually.

12. i have never been interested in Zen... well once i checked them out and ran into some nut cases, i
guess they thought they could F*ck with my mind so much i'd get enlightened, or something.. they might have just been Dharma Bum's, too many people thought that wet brain alcoholic was a Buddhist Sage... but i have stayed away from them ever since.

18. For real?
Because I'm pretty sure it's not legal to fire someone based on their religious beliefs (not to mention their bumper stickers!) I don't know the particulars of your case obviously but it seems like you ought to be able to take some action against these employers... if you wanted to, that is.

I learned the hard way that EEOC complaints take 3 to 5 years to adjudicate and cost between $50,000 and $100,000. It is nice to have the law on your side, but it doesn't count for much when you are up against people who don't respect the law.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. It's ridiculous. But not surprising. x(

3. The power of perception is amazing, itsn't it?
This graphic needs to be posted in a lot of places so that perhaps perceptions can change.

7. Won't make a dent in the fundie worldview
Persecution is part of the package. If you aren't catching grief for being a Christian, you're slacking on the job. I've heard that often enough from those nutters.

15. Exactly.
Even some Christian DUers can't resist playing the persecution card. When it's a way that many feel their faith is validated, they'll manufacture it if necessary.

10. That'd cause some serious uproar, right?
But for Christians, it's perfectly acceptable.
It just amazes me...it really does...

17. Do these people even read the Bible?
Matthew 6:5-7

And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. And in praying do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their many words.

This type of graphic is the logical outcome of Gentiles usurping a Jewish sect. Thankfully, there are other Christians like you who actually follow Christ's teachings. (What a concept!)

22. Of course they read the Bible
In order to find stuff to boss other people around with, not to find stuff to guide their own lives. What kind of fundies would they be if they just lived by their religion instead of trying to make everybody else live by it?

19. Yup.
But a handful of Muslim clerics, here for a religious conference, were kicked off an airplane and detained at the airport for praying.

Good ol' "liberty and justice for ALL" ... it just warms the cockles of your heart, doesn't it?

I love the idea of being pushed around by people who think I should be dead because of what their little book says. :puke:
