New Life Church - more than Ted Haggard
http://www.signorile.com/2009/02/more-new-life-church-revelations.html

I guess that when it is said that the New Life Church in Colorado Springs is the Vatican of the Evangelical movement, they mean it in every aspect. It is amazing how absolute religious power corrupts absolutely and what most of us consider "morality" begins to mean nothing for people with a religious empire to protect.

I followed a Raw Story link to the The Michelangelo Signorile Show Blog and see that Signorile has interviewed a bail bondsman who has been following Ted Haggard and his old kingdom, the New Life Church. Ted isn't the only "Pastor" there who has had problems, at least Ted is just a closeted gay guy with a hidden life. Another of the Pastors there was convicted of molesting kids, and protected by the church. Funny how they will protect a child molester but some poor guy that's just gay and having consensual sex with other men gets the boot combined with absolute humiliation. And what does it say about law enforcement in that area that a Church can get someone probation for child molestation, so long as they undergo the Church's "restoration" program? How about some real psychologists being consulted on the wellbeing of kids for a change?

Definitely an interview worth checking out.

2. Molesting children is not declared a sin in the Bible
Homosexuality is. For the Talibangelicals, that is a vitally important distinction.
