I lost it and pulled a Novak today
In a group discussion, (we were discussing the 7 deadly sins)

and a Chinese Pentacostalist said "oh, your not Christian, your a Catholic"

--I just flipped my lid and said "that's bullshit".

He could tell I was fuming mad.

I am so sick and tired of these snake handlers using their religion to shit on other people to justify their bullshit,
I could just scream.

-end of rant

1. Never underestimate the power of the pig ignorant...
to attack you boldly with said pig ignorance.

Where does this pig ignorant "Christian" think his religion came from?

2. LOL!
Had a bible thumper tell me the same thing.

He said, "I used to be a Catholic, now I'm a Christian."

Freak him out. Ask him if the bible is the word of God (He will agree that it is.)

Then pull out a King James' version of the bible and a Catholic bible and ask why did Protestants pull out the apocrypha, also the word of God.

Watch his balls crawl up to his crotch and laugh!

3. Um lets see
The Catholic Church was the first Christian church and Peter was the first pope (preacher, priest after Christ)... I am confused, how did the Catholic faith become separated from being Christian? I see you said he was a Pentecostal. That's how it happened, those guys make up the rules as they go along, god tells them things that he forgets to tell anyone else. :sarcasm:

4. I don't think even Luther accused the Church of not being Christian...
Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 09:32 AM by higher class
At what separation in the millions of separations within Chrisianity did the Catholic Church become non-Christian?

There is a big problem when 'c'hristians who are uneducated in science, history, art, especially, anthopology and mythology, declare that they know it all.

I reserve the right not to capitalize christian when referring to people who exclude everyone but themselves from 'heaven' and who spread bigotry.

5. The BEST way to shut these people up is this:
ask "Why do you observe the first-day Sabbath, when the Bible clearly prescribes the seventh day?" 99% of them have never thought about it; the other 1% think the Sabbath was changed by Jesus. Ask them to prove it by quoting the Bible. They can't! Holy Mother Church changed the Sabbath, and by following the precepts and examples of the Church, these Protestants are ADMITTING that the successors of St. Peter have the power of loosing and binding, both on earth and in heaven.

:bounce:

6. Some ignoramuses use the term "Christian"
when they should be using the term "Protestant".

There are two main branches of Christianity: Catholicism and Protestantism. There is also the Eastern Orthodox stuff which I think might predate official Catholicism.

Just more proof that fundies are uneducated and ignorant.

9. Google can be your friend -- check out when the

Orthodox split from the Roman Catholic Church. No way did Eastern Orthodox predate Catholicism.

12. More than that...
they use "Christian" as a synonym for "fundamentalist."

When they say, "Are you a Christian?" they mean, "Are you a fundamentalist or at least evangelical?"

They don't mean "Are you Episcopalian?"

11. Exoteric Religions
Well, I for one, will not blame you for getting upset. The error these people fall into, is the idea that anyone can own God. When people get into that sort of thinking, they drag God down to their level, rather than attempting to ascend up to God's level. I'm sure you can see how that isn't going to work out very well...
