Venezuela Wants Pat Robertson
Venezuela Wants Pat Robertson

CARACAS, Venezuela, Aug. 29, 2005
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/08/28/world/main798843.shtml

(CBS/AP) President Hugo Chavez said Sunday that his government may ask the United States to extradite U.S. religious broadcaster Pat Robertson to Venezuela for suggesting American agents should kill him.

Earlier Sunday, Rev. Jesse Jackson offered support for Chavez, saying the televangelist's call for the Venezuelan leader's assassination was a criminal act.

...

"Calling for the assassination of a head of state is a terrorist act," said Chavez, an outspoken critic of President Bush who has forged strong relations with communist-led Cuba.

"We could even request his extradition," he added.
...

Last year, Robertson said President Bush told him before the Iraq invasion: "We're not going to have any casualties," but that "the Lord told me it was going to be (a) a disaster and (b) messy." The White House issued denials

1. You commit the crime, you do the time.
C'mon, Pat. Be a man about it and stand behind your words.

5. US would expect Chavez to turn over terrorist
U.S. Would have no problem asking the same thing from Chavez if a Venezuelain made such a statement about Bush.

Robertson made the statement as a leader of a great mob. He was encouraging such a thought in their minds. Such action could very well enduce someone to take the matter into their own hands and attempted it.

As such, he threatened Chavez, a leader of a Country.

Sounds like a terrorist leader talking to a terrorist group to me.

6. Radical Cleric Makes Terrorist Threat, Petitions God to Kill SC Justices
my thoughts on Robertson

Recently, Radical Cleric Pat Robertson, leader of the Fundamentalist Extremist organization “The 700 Club” aka “CBN” made a televised terrorist threat against Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. This statement by Pat Robertson, along with his recent televised prayer that ‘there be more vacancies on the Supreme Court' (whose justices serve lifetime appointments), unquestionably meet the criteria for the official definition of terrorism:

Terrorism is: “The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence against people or property to coerce or intimidate governments or societies, often to achieve political, religious, or ideological objectives.” (JCS Pub 1-02)

The U.S. will not tolerate terrorist threats of this nature from Radical Clerics like Pat Robertson. Our nation is currently engaged in a Global Struggle against Extremism, and that struggle is against ALL Fundamentalist Extremists including those like Robertson who make public suggestions of violence against world leaders or petition the Deity to smite U.S. Supreme Court Justices. Robertson’s actions are extremely serious, and should not by any means be taken lightly by the U.S. Government or by the American People.

7. Robertson - US DOJ? The Hague/ICC? or Extradition to Venezuela?
I don't know if Robertson should be tried first in the US for petitioning God to kill Supreme Court Justices; or if he should be tried in The Hague in the International Criminal Court ( http://www.icc-cpi.int ); or if he should just be extradited to Venezuela and brought to justice in the country whose legitimate president he called out for assassination.

8. He would certainly deserve it
I strongly believe Pat needs Psychiatric help. Megalomania with some other personality disorder. Therefore, I believe he should be in a therapeutic setting. He should be censored and kept from distorting the word of God for the rest of his life, the greedy parasite. x(
