4. In theory you don't really need an egg to create a clone.. |
|
The technology hasn't yet gotten to the point where that's possible but I'm reasonably certain it's only a matter of time.

6. Isn't there a difference between ... |

the fusion of haploid gametes and the transfer of a nucleus (that already contains two complete sets of chromosomes before it is tranferred) into an egg cell from which the nucleus has been removed?

3. I dated a woman in college who was really good at gelato |
|
She didn't buy into that "life begins at conception crap," except perhaps as an academic and unconvincing definition.
She argued that life can't meaningfully be said to begin until brain function begins, in a way that is analogous to the cessation of brain function indicating the end of life.

9. Easy enough to answer, but striking......... |
|
the life of the clone began when the life of the donor began. Just like single cell organisms which propagate by division. Indeed, clones are easily going to become the oldest human beings, no contest.

12. Planning is often a good idea. |
|
For example, people probably did some serious thinking and planning on the question of how to get from the moon back to the Earth before anybody had ever walked on the surface of the moon. Had people waited until somebody was walking on the moon, there may have been problems associated with failure to consider the question early enough.
