The same God

Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all worship the same God.
The God of Abraham.

All three religion have violent and horrific past and present behavior.

This "my religion is better than your religion" nonsense is played by fools.

1. I agree and to condone violence in the name of religion is foolish and
violates the essence of most religious doctrine. Assuming that you are an atheist or an agnostic (I don't know and apologize if I am wrong), would you say that atheism or agnosticism is "better" than religion?

2. I wouldn't say "better"
It's just a simple matter of...if it fits wear it (proudly).

3. I do not think Christians, Jews, and Muslims pray to the same god.
Seems to me each individual prays to their own god, and they decorate their god with the themes of Christianity and/or Judaism and/or Islam and/or other.

Both Bush and President Obama are Christians, but do you really think they are both praying to the same god?

5. Yahweh has a fascinating family story that goes way back........
our best knowledge of His family tree comes from Ugarit. Evidently the child of Ba'al and Ashtoreth, who later rebelled and took over the reins of the cosmos.

Also, according to some sources, stole dad's wife (consort) for his own property. (Used to be a lot more common to do that when wives were scarcer.)

For a long time Yahweh and Ashtoreth competed for the love of the ancient peoples of Palestine, with the men mostly acolytes of Yahweh and the women mostly acolytes of Ashtoreth. That's what all the talk about 'high places' in the OT is about. That's what's behind the story of Queen Jezebel. The worship of Ashtoreth, or Asherah as She's also called, among many other names, was the true popular religion of the area until about 600 BCE, when social conditions (the return from Babylon) allowed the men to get an iron grip over religion, called 'patriarchy' that they would never again release.

Google Asherah in your spare time and look at the purty pictures.

Those statuettes that you'll find are the actual true religious figures of the time mythically described in the Bible as the Davidic Kingdom.

6. Even if regarded as pure mythology, the god of Abraham seems interesting to me
Abraham curiously meets this god face-to-face, by the simple act of offering hospitality to hungry and thirsty strangers wandering the midday desert. Abraham is not at all afraid to argue with this god of his, and his grandson Jacob seems willing even to have a knock-down fight with this god, a fight which he wins!

8. I support freedom of religion in America and the separation of
Church and State. I think all these religions lead to the same supreme being, God the Father, maker of Heaven and Earth. Amen.
