Sign outside Texas Baptist church equates NOLA with Sodom & Gommorah

"...It was only a matter of time before these fundamentalist, christianiban terrorists started glorifying the death and destruction of the single worst natural disaster in the history of our nation. They revel in the death of anyone they think is not like them...."

1. But why did God spare the French Quarter?

If you're looking for Sodomy or don't mind catching Gomorrah that'd be the place to go. The waters didn't come there. Instead, God flooded the homes of righteous folk who're multiplying in the Biblically prescribed manner.
It's clear then that God loves Sodom and sodomy, and the citizens of Gomorrah are his Chosen People.

2. Amazing how god hasn't wiped out Key West or San Fransisco yet...
Yeah, he tried to get rid of San Fran in 1906, but that was BEFORE it was the den of iniquities it is now...

...and he failed to completely destroy it.

I expect more of a deity, don't you?

3. In Sodom and Gomorrah there were, according to the Bible...
no more than ten innocents, and those innocents (Lot's family) were permitted to escape.

Are the Christian Rightists ready to claim the same for Katrina - which did not prey specifically on the guilty or innocent, but instead on the poorest and weakest of society, exactly the people for whom Jesus and the "Old" Testament prophets demanded aid?

4. You know, they always skip over the details in these references....
the righteous Lot offered his daughters to the mob that showed up at his door, and later the righteous Lot had sex with, and knocked up, these same daughters...lovely family, the lot of them....Gen 19:8, 31-38.

5. They had to account for all of the pillars of salt some how.
Pretty rotten trick to turn her into salt for just looking back. Heaven might not be much fun if this God gets in a snit.
