High CHQ. You are a pretty progressive, stylish, hipster-leaning Christian, even while you could easily feel at home in a decidedly un-hip non-denominational church. You are conservative on some issues and liberal on others, and sometimes you grow weary of trendy "alt-Christianity." But make no mistake: You are a Christian hipster to at least some degree.

LOL. Well I am a Christian and there are many things about me that people commonly think of as "hipster" traits.

I was kind of impressed by the first answer to question 2, that is literally a complete spot-on description of my church, to the letter.

1. 60/120 and I'm an atheist.

Low CHQ. You probably belong to the purpose-driven, seeker-sensitive, Hawaiian shirt-wearing Christian establishment, even though you are open to some of the "rethinking Christianity" stuff. You seem to like edginess in some measure but become uneasy when your idea of Christian orthodoxy is challenged by some renegade young visionary who claims the virgin birth isn't necessary.

7. That's what I got, too.
I was glad that there was a choice in the answers that said I had no idea...

2. Holy Shit! And here, I thought I invented the term "Christian Hipster" just the other day!!!
My wife and I passed someone driving one of these ugly-as-fuck box cars, like a Scion or a Nissan Cube or something, black... with a whole bunch of very big, 'edgy' looking Christian stickers.

I was, like, "look! A Christian Hipster!"

(BTW, *I* think those cars are ugly as shit, but at my age, probably nothing could make me cool.)

4. This type of thing has been around for awhile, quite popular with young Christians
At my church a substantial percentage of those in attendance look like they're actually going to see Sleigh Bells or Cymbals Eat Guitars or some band like that, not going to church. And the bike rack outside is full of stereotypically hipster bikes.

The crowd is so young they're actually having an "Over 35 Barbecue" in a few weeks to make the older folks feel welcome. LOL.

5. I think Jesus would want this guy to drive a car with a better aerodynamic profile
but that's just me.

6. That's not really what I consider a hipster thing though
Remember all the bikes mentioned. I drive, but only because it's in a different neighborhood and public transportation isn't as widespread on Sundays. Today I remember parking behind someone else going with two bumper stickers: One promoting that they listen to NPR, the other for the Human Rights Campaign.

3. 0/120
about half of them, though, I had to leave blank - like, "your preferred house of worship would be".. I don't have one.

Well, maybe The lower Loge of The Warfield with Jerry Garcia playing, but beyond that, no.

8. I met one yesterday. Fantastic open positive vibes.
I didn't know what the young 'aware' cashier at Whole Foods was who was so GOOD to us. He looked like he might have been a 'hip' Muslim multicultural type but was wearing a cross. His good energy helped make my day nicer!
