Jesus's water-to-wine jugs found after all these years?

Cana, Israel - Archeologists have found pieces of large stone jars of the type the Bible says Jesus used when he turned water into wine at a Jewish wedding in Cana.

They also believe that the site where the shards were found could be the location of the biblical village of Cana. But Bible scholars caution it will be hard to obtain conclusive proof -- especially since experts disagree on exactly where Cana was located centuries ago.

The shards were found during a salvage dig in modern-day Cana, between Nazareth and Capernaum. Israeli archaeologist Yardena Alexander said the jar pieces date to the Roman period, when Jesus traveled in the Galilee region.

"All indications from the archeological excavations suggest that the site of the wedding was Cana, the site that we have been investigating," said Alexander.

However, American archeologists excavating a rival site several miles to the north also have found pieces of stone jars from the time of Jesus, and they also believe they have found the biblical Cana.

Christian theologians attach great significance to the water-to-wine miracle at Cana. They say the act was not only Jesus' first miracle, it came at a crucial point in the early days of his public ministry when he was under pressure to demonstrate his divinity.

Now, I don't mean to be blasphemous or anything, but I wonder why the archeologists don't consider that with all the "free wine" that was available at the wedding that perhaps some guests took a jug or two home..which would explain why shards were found in two different places.

5. What did Jesus and friends do?

Break the jars on the spot? Give ME a break. Not only that, but jars weren't all that easy to make way back then. I would venture to guess they took good care of the ones they had. A high percentage of jars break in the firing process while making them.

that they're found constantly at archeological sites all over the world, many of which pre-date the alleged time of Jesus by several millenia.

the paper would have a reason to use the name of Jesus in today's news. Don't forget...they don't want to seem to be taking the "Christ" out of Christmas. The MSM has to prove itself loyal to the evangelicals.
