Mosque in a box (video)

Muslims in Paris who find themselves too busy to pray have been given a new option, thanks to a Tunisian businessman.

Hassmem Bounachma, who is also the Imam at a large Parisian mosque, says his three-panelled "mosque in a box" provides an ideal but convenient place for the kind of contemplation required in prayer.

~~

The Imam says it will be particularly good for women, who are faced with a new law that will ban the burqa in public. How so, I wonder.

3. Thanks.
I guess the imam means well...but the idea is you're not supposed to need a lot of "stuff."

What, you put this in the corner of your office, maybe?

4. It looks as if
it needs 3 walls to support it to keep it from falling over, so the corner would need to be exactly the right size.

I can't imagine many Muslims buying one.

It wouldn't surprise me if someone also comes up with a church sanctuary for Christians, to help get them in the mood to pray. There's always someone trying to make a buck.

5. Well, I guess Muslim women could carry it around with them ...
and periodically place the open side against a wall, with themselves inside -- thus simulating being in a burqa. ;-)

It looks to me like a money-making scam. And it would be more useful to protest the French ban on Muslim women's expressing their religious and cultural heritage.
