Papal trivia of the day
If you buy one of these, the Pagani Zonda...

You get a FREE set of leather luggage. (Or ostrich hide, if you prefer.)

And that's not all!

You also get a FREE set of driving shoes, made by the Pope's official cobbler, Adriano Stefanelli:

(WARNING: Actual Pope shoes shown. Your Pagani driving shoes may vary by color, style and miraculousness)

And how much will a Pagani Zonda set you back? Well, it comes with a V-12 AMG-tuned Mercedes engine and a body mostly crafted out of carbon fiber.

So you're probably thinking "At least $3 million."

NO! Not $3 million, not $2 million! But you can have this fine car, a set of custom luggage, AND virtually the Pope's own footwear for a measly $1.3 million!

1. Stupid post.
But it does provide an opportunity for real papal trivia.

2. You should probably acknowledge your conflict of interest, rug.
After all, you helped pay for them.

7. Yes, the headline of the NPR link is quite interesting!
Has the pope ever thanked you for helping to buy them?

More real papal trivia:

‘Joust of the Whores’: The Worst Popes in History

FYI: Googling "worst popes" returns about 1,020,000 results. But we know some of them weren't real Popes, so it's OK.

8. C'mon, everybody knows that Jesus lived in a palace of marble and gold...
and wore only the most exquisite robes and footwear. It's right in the bible, isn't it?

perhaps the popes just pass over that step
and have a little heaven on earth

13. Wrong shoes. Aside from the fact that Stefanelli provides free shoes to the Pope,
and you'll get a pair of free Stefanelli shoes with every purchase of a Pagani Zonda, there's not really much connection here: the free shoes with your Pagani Zonda will match the leather interior of your Pagani Zonda, whereas the Pope's free shoes probably won't match the leather interior of your Pagani Zonda, unless you order your Pagani Zonda with a bright red leather interior

15. Once again, I sadly have no idea what you're trying to say. Being posted in this forum, the OP
suggests some religious/theological significance to the fact that anyone who buys a Pagani Zonda also gets matching luggage! as well as matching shoes from Adriano Stefanelli! who also gives the Pope free shoes! Now, that wouldn't be enough of a hook for me to spring for a Pagani Zonda, even if I had that kind of pocket change: the Pagani Zonda just isn't much to my taste, and "FREE PAIR OF SHOES!" doesn't much change that, even if I shared the Pope's taste in shoes and the Pagani Zonda "FREE SHOES!" shoes were the very same shoes the Pope wears. I conclude, therefore, that Pagani Zonda isn't actually offering anybody the Pope's shoes: they're just offering to toss into the car a pair of over-priced shoes made by Adriano Stefanelli, who also gives the Pope over-priced shoes, but for free! Some people may think these are mere details, but (since this is the religion/theology forum) let's remember the devil in the details
