A new poll has found that 47% of Canadians believe that religion does more harm than good, while 53% believe the opposite.
Canadians are also split on whether ‘religious practice is an important factor in the moral lives of Canadians,’ with 49% agreeing with the statement and 51% disagreeing.
The Ipsos Reid poll also found that 64% of Canadians believe religion raises more questions than answers in their personal lives and in a larger sense. However, 90% of those who said they attend a religious service on a weekly basis agree that ‘religion helps them find answers to what’s going on in the world an in their own life.’
