Hundreds of abusive priests who were kicked out of the church have blended into society
Raymond Boucher is an attorney who works for victims of sexual abuse. He told CNN that hundreds of abusive priests who were kicked out of the church have blended back into society, living in neighborhoods where the public has no idea about their background.

These priests have never been held accountable in criminal trials, usually because the statute of limitations has passed before the victims come forward. Even if the priest admitted to the abuse, he cannot go to jail.

Boucher says that the church shielded the priests. (well, they DID! Of that there is no doubt at all!)

Tod Tamberg, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Archdiocese, says that when priests were taken out of ministry after allegations, they were sent to treatment and in some cases, they were assigned to other duties. "Looking back now, at what we did back then, I think it was the wrong thing to do," he admitted to CNN. "We relied too often on the stories of the priests themselves. We thought too much about their well-being than the victims."

Hats off to Mr. Tamberg. At least SOMEBODY in this corrupt, horrific institution gets it and is willing to admit it.

4. Clergy aside, are you advocating that sex offenders be exterminated?
If so, set forth your preferred method of extermination.

Lethal injection?

Dismemberment?

Beheading?

Firing Squad?

Gas chamber?

10. think of the
thousands of lives they ruined, the young people that committed suicide on account of them. there is NO CURE for pedophilia. i couldnt care less about them. i had a good friend that was molested by one while he was a choir boy. he grew up to become a loner, never had a relationship in life, was a very lonely man until he killed himself at age 39. rest in peace bobby, you deserved better

11. I am sorry about your friend, but executing people because it makes you feel better isn't the answer

If the priests were charged, had their day in court, were found guilty and could not be rehabilitated, life in prison with no chance of parole would be an appropriate sentence.

I am the last person who would defend the Church, but I do not believe in state sanctioned murder.

6. Yessir! Maybe we can torture them a little first and really make it exciting!
Burn crosses into their flesh, cut off their genitals, sodomize them with red hot pokers and finally hang them in the town square where families can have their pictures taken with the corpses.

Sound familiar?

2. The problem is actually worse than that
because most abusive priests were not removed from the ministry. They were simply reassigned to other parishes where they continued their abuse with new victims.

At least the ones who were booted out lacked the opportunity to deal with kids in the same context. They might be hanging around schools wearing trench coats and offering candy to little kids but they were no longer in positions of respect or authority.

The ones who got transferred on the other hand simply were given a fresh choice of kids to abuse.

9. Exactly. ANd yet so many refuse to acknowledge that fact and instead pretend nothing happened.
You can see that mindset right here in this forum.
