American Christian Fascists
If fascism ever some to America it won’t be through insignificant groups such as American Nazis or the KKK, both of which together could field a couple of softball teams. It’ll come through “Christians,” specifically the blood-thirsty ones who support war.

This kind of Christian supports the State, and Israel and wars, because they think by doing so they can get Jesus to come back and slaughter all the “infidels” (first those infidels were the Communists, now they’re Muslims). They won’t be around to watch any of this, because they believe they’ll be wafted to Heaven in the Rapture. They believe they’ll be watching the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse romp all over the world from on high.

Look how popular those “Left Behind” novels are. Tens of millions of copies have been sold.

These people are of course completely deluded. The belief in the Rapture is profoundly anti-Biblical, not that it’s stopped anyone in the past from using religion to slaughter people.

1. "The State always goes after the politically weak and insignificat. It went after David Koresh."
Then there was Ruby Ridge. But the politically powerful? They are kowtowed to. That’s the way it is with these Christian fascists. They have political power. And that’s a shame."

He sympathizes with David Koresh and Randy Weaver. This guy will end up howling in a cabin somewhere.

4. Just be sure you call them "right wing", so the wrong Christians don't get attacked too.

6. Who are the "wrong Christians"?
Who are the "right Christians"? Who determines which Christians belong in each group?

Are you suggesting it's OK to attack some Christians but not others? What is the criteria for determining which Christians it's OK to attack?

7. Who? The ones who don't follow Christ's teachings. And I didn't tell you to attack anyone.
Christianity's tenets were being attacked using wrong examples.
It's much like using a glutton to attack dieting.
I'm here, a staunch Democrat, voting against the GOP every chance to prevent their worship of wealth and spilling of blood as well as their self righteous judgment of certain groups and individuals.
The GOP misuses the Christian faith constantly, I try to oppose them every way I can.
I've done this to the point where I've been shunned by family members and former friends.
All I'm asking is not to be held with the GOP when I'm doing all I can to stop them.
And if you think I'm in the wrong, just compare my actions to Christ's Teachings and show me my error.
However, if someone is just going to knee jerk bash Christianity, don't expect much help from me.
It's Freedom OF Religion in this country, not freedom from.
If we all believed the same, we'd just be robots anyway.

9. Freedom FROM religion IS freedom of religion.
Just ask the Americans who had their civil rights taken away by Prop 8.

10. You already understand that freedom of religion requires freedom from religion.
You are free to practice Christianity as you see fit because you are free from having to practice the version of Christianity of those you oppose.

Freedom of religion requires freedom from religion.

11. You realize the RW Christians consier you the 'wrong Christian'
And they have a list of reasons as long (if not longer) than the one you spewed. Both of you can play No True Scotsman all you want but in the end you just show what hypocrites you are.

It's Freedom OF Religion in this country, not freedom from.

Bull. If you weren't free from having other peoples' religions forced on you, you wouldn't be free to practice your own. If you lived in Iran or Saudi Arabia you wouldn't be free to be a Christian. It's because you're free from other religions that you can be a Christian, and the particular flavor of Christian you are. You just can't seem to grasp that from your place of privilege and imagined persecution.

5. Fascism usually has two components...
On the top there are the elites, the merger of big business and government. On the bottom are core constituencies that claim to represent "real" national values and project those values back to an imagined, idealized past.

The Christo-fascists mostly constitutes that lower part.
