Nevada IHOP shooter said he was tormented by demons
Thirty two year old Edouard Sencion took the Bible seriously, studied it, and believed that demons were after him in the months preceding the Nevada IHOP shooting that claimed 4 lives and wounded 7 others (video).

The Sacramento Bee reports that Sencion's mental health records indicate that he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 1999. He said that the demons were telling him to do "bad things."

Move along, folks. Nothing to see here. This is just a mentally ill man and the incident had nothing to do with religion at all.

:sarcasm: (for those that need it)

1. Right. It was religion, not paranoid schizophrenia.
Look, I'm not at all a fan of organized religion, but conveniently ignoring the fact that the guy was very mentally ill in order to make a jab at religion? Would it have been more okay if he thought the people he was shooting were space aliens here to take over the world? The specifics of the guy's delusion, or where he chose to go nuts, etcetera, isn't more relevant than the fact that he was an obviously untreated paranoid schizophrenic. That single factor is the difference between a peaceful person and mass murder.

3. No one is ignoring that he was mentally ill.
But what people WANT to ignore is how, in this case and others like it, religion plays a part in the mental illness.
