Well, today is the day...
After more than two years of growing out my hair, I am cutting it off and donating it to Locks of Love.

We atheists ARE good people. We do good things because its the right thing to do. We ARE good without god.

2. I hope someone gets great happiness from your gift! K+R ...
What a wonderful gift to someone!

And I'd like to see believers in every church in America do the same as you are doing.

Lots of deeply religious women have very long hair, I have noticed.

Do people really want my scant wisps of grey hair?

3. Thanks for that. I tried years ago, but my hair doesn't grow out nicely enough

because it's baby fine and tends to split a lot.

Your feet aren't going to touch the ground for a week with all the weight gone.

And we atheists do good things because we've thought about what kind of world we'd rather live in and behave according to that. Most of us want to live in one where we take care of each other.

5. Most of us want to live in one where we take care of each other.
I hope 99% of believers in a god can go along with that, too.

I think we hear too much from the other 1% of the believers, they seem to demand our attention with their less-than-caring demands upon the rest of the world.

I never want believers to think Atheism is their enemy, but so many of them seem to bristle at the idea that some other people don't think exactly as they do. So many of them equate Atheism to Hitler or some other unconscionable dictator, and so many of them dismiss or deny or simply forget so much suffering done in the name of their own religious beliefs.

A gift of hair is a gift of life, in "spirit" and in real tangible, brushable form.

6. Do you have pictures to share? If it's not too much to ask,
I'd love to see them!
