1. Judging from the TV ads, seems to be "buy your loved one a Lexus day" |
|
Have it in the driveway, put a big red bow on it and play that annoying music....
Our mute button has never been so busy!

3. Yes, everyone can afford a Lexus and what a loser you are |
|
if you don't. Also, everyone can snuggle with their SO and oogle in awe of the giant sparkler on her ring finger. Nice.

4. Utterly disgusting, isn't it. |

We are going the expensive route - I am hoping for a NY Times Sunday Crosswords book...my wife for a moderate difficulty Sudoko book. So much for stimulating the economy!

5. Who does that? Really, who does that? |
|
It's just more consumer fantasy to fuel the fires of consumption. And people EAT. IT. UP.

7. I love the whole cyclical irony of it all... |
|
what did most people line up for on black friday? TeeVees. What do TeeVees do (in part, aside from entertaining?) Pushing ads at people. So they go out and buy things they might not afford. horrible, vicious cycle IMHO.

9. Examples set by TV Reality shows |
|
like Kendall Jenner (a Kardashian half-sister) getting a $90K Range Rover for her 16th birthday, and all those 'My Sweet Sixteen' brats who have hissy fits if their parents don't add to the $100K+ birthday parties with a gift of a new Beemer or Mercedes. We train 'em young.:puke: And IMO, it's irrelevant whether one can afford it or not. It perpetuates gross consumerism and the myth that we can all live like (or aspire to) the 1% class.

13. Really!? Who buys a Lexus for a Christmas present |
|
I know some parents by their kids cars for Christmas when their kids get their licenses, but they are usually used cars. Never new, and sure as hell not a damn Lexus.
