Monk at peace in walk north

Jinasiri the walking monk.

2nd December 2011

A MYSTERIOUS visitor who prides himself on living the most simple of lives has unintentionally become the star attraction in Howard this week.

Jinasiri the walking monk has captured the interest and hearts of those living in the Burrum district since he strolled into town barefoot on Tuesday with nothing but the traditional robes he was dressed in.

Posts on social networking site Facebook from those living in the community included "just fed the monk" and "Had a great talk with the monk this morning".

Yesterday the Chronicle found the man the town's people have adopted as "our monk" meditating on the veranda of an old miner's shack near the Burrum District Museum.

3. More power to him
But for some reason i can't help but think about the conversation between Samuel Jackson and John Travolta in "Pulp Fiction" about roaming the Earth :)
