1. Blasphemy!
Married catholics may have sex only once a month - and only for procreament. In effect, that means young marrieds who do not want children for 5 years are proscibed from having sex. Also gram & gramp - NO SEX! Last but not least sex between unmarrieds is forbidden. Sex for homosexuals - fuggetiboutit!
Nice church!

2. I saw one of those ads in DC yesterday -- but the one I saw was better.
It had a picture of two men.

4. No NO NOOOOO!!!
Those guys are clearly talking about all the hot sex they're having with women. They're speaking in a totally platonic way about sex with other people. Female people. Got it?

3. That's what being a Protestant's all about!
That's why it's the church for me. That's why it's the church for anyone who respects the individual and the individual's right to decide for him or herself. When Martin Luther nailed his protest up to the church door in fifteen-seventeen, he may not have realised the full significance of what he was doing, but four hundred years later, thanks to him, my dear, I can wear whatever I want on my John Thomas.

...and, Protestantism doesn't stop at the simple condom! Oh, no! I can wear French Ticklers if I want. French Ticklers. Black Mambos. Crocodile Ribs. Sheaths that are designed not only to protect, but also to enhance the stimulation of sexual congress.

I can go down the road any time I want and walk into Harry's and hold my head up high and say in a loud, steady voice, 'Harry, I want you to sell me a condom. In fact, today, I think I'll have a French Tickler, for I am a Protestant.'

5. Well, many right wing Catholics will blow multipile fuses over this
I support this stance, we do need to live in the real world and real life does not follow the pure, clean theory.

6. Good on them!
Seriously, good for them. That really gets to the "and they shall become one flesh" bit, the bond between two people.

7. That gives me hope.
One of my big problems with the catholic church (and my girlfriend's also, who is catholic) is the prohibition on birth control. My girlfriend's problem actually stems from the fact that the church condemns use of birth control in the third world, but then won't help cover adoptions from those areas. My problem is that not using birth control ends up causing a lot of suffering and pain for million of people via STDs and overpopulation.

So, it goes without saying, that gives me hope.

10. Love the ads
If anybody thinks the RCC is going to come out and say that birth control is a good thing and not a sin, I wouldn't be holding my breath. The current pope certainly ain't going to say it. Neither is the next guy. Won't happen in any of our lifetimes.
