Guess whose support for Bush is dropping?
GOP Dips in Religion Poll
Associated Press
WASHINGTON, August 24 - The number of people who consider the Republican Party friendly to religion has dipped below half in the last year, with declines among white evangelicals and white Catholics.

But...but...didn't they get everything they wanted? Bush vetoed the stem cell bill, they did the whole gay marriage thing (or made a show of going through the motions, at any rate.)

Gratitude is a lost art, I tells yeah!

1. Apparently fundies and Murkin Catholics have realised that killing
people in wars isn't the Christian thing to do.

5. Guess that really depends on why their support is dropping
If they want to recapture the political process for the people, we are their big tent. If they want to fulfill the biblical commands concerning the treatment of the poor, the orphans, the widows, and the aliens among us, we are their big tent. If they want to beat swords into plowshares, we are their big tent. If they are stewards of God's creation, we are their big tent.

If their support is dropping because the GOP doesn't hate as much or as well as they would like, then this Christian Democrat can do without their support for my party, and our big tent isn't big enough to hold them.

8. I Have More Hope For Humanity
I know lots of evangelical and fundamentalist Christians who are good people, and don't "hate".

So, the tent is big enough for them.

Question is, will it be big enough for everyone.
