Top 10 most-feared tacklers in NFL history
Good list. I wouldn't want to be hit by any of these dudes. Clips included!

10 - John Lynch
Bears TE John Allred, brother in law to John Lynch, learned the hard way about the safety's passion for collisions with unsuspecting ball carriers.

9 - Steve Atwater
Christian Okoye, the "Nigerian Nightmare," trampled all who came in his way, until Steve Atwater ended the former Chiefs' reign of terror.

8 - Jack Lambert
Out to deliver a crushing hit and follow it with mean words, Jack Lambert ("Count Dracula in Cleats") was an intimidating force.

1. Atwater's hit on Okoye was great fun to watch
I still remember my jaw dropping when that happened. :)

Atwater should be in the hall of fame.

2. That hit was awesome.
Okoye was never the same after that, and was gone not long after.

4. Jack Tatum had a biography "They Call Me Assassin"...
which I remember reading back in the early 80's. Man, could hit.

10. I read that when I was a kid.
I actually liked the Raiders a lot when I was young. I still have a sift spot for them, but until Davis is gone it's not worth following them.

Tatum was scary.

6. Where's Ray Nitschke?
In 1969, he was awarded as the NFL's all-time top Linebacker by the NFL in honor of the NFL's 50th Anniversary. He is the only linebacker to have made both the NFL's 50th and 75th Anniversary Teams.

7. I'd put Chuck Cecil on that list too.
He played safety for the Packers, Cards, and Oilers back in the 90's, and is now the defensive coordinator for the Titans. He was such a brutal hitter he even inspired his own SI cover:
