2.43 and rising
Timmy L's ERA continues to rise as he gave up the game winning homer yesterday to the Rockies. He is now winless in his last 5 games and only 2 wins in his last 8 starts. Meanwhile the Dodgers, who led all teams in ERA through much of the first half of the season before falling below the Giants by a pretty good margin, have now drawn back even with the small men in that category.

The cracks in the Giants' veneer continue to show and to get wider. 3 games back in the battle for second tier status. I say they're done.

4. I'm sure they'll find a way to lose.
Of course, as a Dodger fan, I want the Rockies to lose this game.

8. You better be rooting for the Giants
the Rockies win tonight they'll be but 3 games back. Since the All Star game, the Dodgers are 18-19, the Rockies 23-14...in fact, the Rockies have been hot for months now. If this trend holds, the Rockies, not the Dodgers, are going to win the NL West.

9. So you'll be rooting for the team that wins the NL West (Rockies)
and the only team out of the NL West against the Marlins?

12. Of course...any trends are completely thrown out of whack
unless the Rockies can start beating LA head to head... It looks like I'm going to be in the unfortunate position of rooting for the Dodgers the next 3 games.

6. You forgot to mention that Cain's ERA is also 2.43
making them tied for second in all of MLB. Yep, it's tough having two starters like Lincecum and Cain...too bad the Dodgers don't have anything like them, they might even be favored to win the NL. As it is, I'll take the Phillies with the addition of Cliff Lee.

Btw, you've been claiming the Giants were "done" for months now..and if memory serves, you even posted an article in spring training predicting the Giants would finish last in the NL West. I guess, if you keep saying it over and over again, unless the Giants win the WS, you're bound to be right sooner or later.

7. "they might even be favored to win the NL."
They are. Odds are 2-1 that the Dodgers win the World Series, tied with the Cards.

The Giants are 15-2.

Place your bets.

15. Giants just took a 4-1 lead over Colorado in the top of the 14th
Velez tripled in a pair and Uribe grounded out with Velez scoring.

Eaton is pitching for the Rockies.
