There is nothing there. McCoy just lost the Heisman. Texas is just an average team. Nothing more. They have played nobody.

3. Stupid ass Texas...
ugh, 8 flippin' sacks. He better not win the damned Heisman. Give it to Ingram.
I'm sorry, but I hope they lose. Texas has played creampuffs all year, they beat mediocre OU (as much as that pains me) by 1, and they're haven't looked good against Nebraska. They'll get smoked by Alabama.

9. Cincy barely beat a better team...Boise State demolished the team going
to the Rose Bowl...the BCS has become the "Let's make sure it's always SEC v Big 12" League.

10. Problem is---Oregon is the only decent team they played
Edited on Sun Dec-06-09 09:45 AM by trumad
and beat 19-8. Oregon also lost to Stanford.

I think for Boise to get some respect they should at least play two decent teams per season.

I mean, come on---what a cupcake schedule..

11. You may disagree
Edited on Sun Dec-06-09 10:05 AM by JonLP24
but Fresno State is a "decent" team. Other then their loss to the #2 team in the WAC Nevada, they went to overtime with Wisconsin and lost to undefeated Cincinnati by 8, both games on the road. Also the Bulldogs have the nation's leading rusher.

I'm not sure why you mean lost to Stanford but Stanford is really good. Even in the games they lost they played well, like against Oregon State first play of the game Andrew Luck throws a bomb and the receiver drops a sure touchdown pass. They folded in the 4th quarter against Arizona after leading 38-29. Problem with Stanford is their defense isn't very good but their offense is by far the best in the Pac 10 with the best QB in the Pac 10 and probably the best running back in the nation.

Now back to my point about Fresno. They are a "decent" team but not a great team so I was addressing that. You got to realize they traveled to Wisconsin, to Fresno, then to Cincinnati, then all the way to Hawaii and still played very well even in those games they lost.

12. Looking at Fresno's schedule
it appears they beat sorry ass teams and did not beat one good team.

Sure they played Cinci and Wisconsin tough and props to them for that---but--- they're not a real good example of a "decent" team.

14. If you followed Fresno State you would understand what I mean
They schedule very aggressively against some of the top teams in the nation usually on their own home turf year in and year out and they have done quite well. In fact since the BCS started Fresno State has the most wins against BCS teams then any other non-BCS team. They beat the Big 12 Champs in 2001 and 2004. Shit they played one of the greatest college games I ever saw against #1 USC in 2005 when they had Leinart and Bush where they traded touchdowns all the way to the end but USC won.

The problem when it comes to Conference schedules is with always scheduling on other opponent's home turf they also become one of the furthest traveling teams with games from all the way to Ruston, LA to Hawaii and Cincinnati/Wisconsin like this year and Boise St has became dominant and usually always beat them.

Anyways by the definition of "decent" meaning adequate, fair, passable and not great Fresno State qualifies. Also have the nation's leading rusher doesn't hurt and I bet they win their Bowl Game.

15. I think they can beat a over rated Iowa team...
Iowa is limping into the post season... losing their last 2 out of 3 and barely surviving Minnesota.

Back to Fresno... I hear ya and will say they are decent...but--- they still did not beat one so-called good team during their season.

Boise plays in a cupcake league and should consider moving into a league with better competition. Until then they will never gain the respect they deserve.

17. I hear you
I'm not sure it's simply easy for Boise St moving to a better league. You got to realize they used to play in the Big Sky Conference so it was the Big West that took them and they folded so they went to the WAC. I'd be happy to drop lousy Washington State for Boise State but I don't think the Pac 10 would let that happen considering the Cougars belong to the Pac 10 in every sport. I will say Pac 10 should add Boise State and Utah or something and get 12 teams but I don't think the Pac 10 is giving them any invites and with no conference invites you simply can't join any league.

21. Meh. Nearly everybody nearly lost
To someone they shouldn't have. Alabama barely beat a not so good Auburn. Texas played about the same type of schedule as TCU. Which is whom people want..you know who's TCU's biggest win is agaisnt? Virginia. A lousy team in a lousy conference.

I also believe Utah and BYU are better then Virginia.

LOL-I just looked at Virginia's record and hell beating Wyoming was a bigger win then beating Virginia.

TCU beat up on a lot of mediocre teams like Texas did. Not much difference between the two IMO

Just that Virginia is not their best win. At least Clemson, Utah, BYU, Air Force are all better then Virginia IMO.

25. They said that the year we beat USC, too.
I remember the national announcers declaring USC the greatest team ever, Reggie Bush the greatest player ever, and the matchup a joke. Some were debating that Texas could lose by 40 points and thus usher in a playoff system.

I think Texas is overrated, too, and will have a tough time against Alabama. But who else should play? Boise State? TCU?

The real problem here is that the whole idea of a "National Championship" is stupid. It's like the fanboy fights about who would win a fight between Batman and Dick Tracy. They don't face enough common opponents, the teams are geared to play their own divisions and don't necessarily match up to other teams' styles, and the whole idea is just dumbass fantasy by a bunch of reporters who can't move on from their college days.

And don't get me started on a playoff system, neither. Someone still has to choose who gets included, and it would prove nothing any more than the current fantasy rankings do.

However, HOOK 'EM, HORNS!!! And McCoy deserves the Heisman if anyone does. :P
