Looks like Belicheck's team will win the division again, as the Jests and phins
both choke today.

1. Probably, but still not a given.

The Pats really aren't playing well, and Miami looked better in losing then the Pats did in winning today. If they do win the Pats look like a first round out to me.

2. There's a boatload of 7-7 teams in the AFC
Edited on Sun Dec-20-09 09:13 PM by JonLP24
Miami
NY Jets
Tennessee
Houston
Jacksonville
Pittsburgh

However as of now Denver and Baltimore have the wild card spots with an 8-6 record. Should make for an interesting two weeks.

NFC not so interesting. Pretty much Dallas/Philly and Green Bay have the two WC spots with 9-5 records and only Giants(7-6) and Atlanta with a 7-7 record has a shot but it requires a lot of things to happen for them to get in.

4. I hate to have to add this, but don't forget the Giants.
They have the tiebreaker against Dallas.

7. Oh, and BTW, if Belicheck is stealing the signals from Dallas
last night, they may go a long way!

Sorry, but I gotta milk the victory as long as I can! It just drives the Haters crazy when America's Team wins!

:D

12. They play better at home, and hhave one home game left...
...that's all they need...odd, they will go, I predict, 10-6, worse than last year, but will make the play-offs, unlike last year.

8. Chocking implies that the Phins lost to a team they were favored over...
Uh--they weren't... Titan's are pretty good at home and beat us in overtime.

9. Miami has now lost 2 more games than all of last year
some fans are left to wonder why....but all the time, the answer was staring them right in the face. For, this year, the Dolphins are playing a REAL schedule..

10. Douche two appears...
Miami is still in the Wild Card hunt with that "real Schedule" ---The hardest schedule in the league.

The Niners----well---they just lost their 8th game with a schedule ranked 28 out of 32 for the easiest.

Oh and one more thing Douche--- no playoff's for your shit team.

11. We've already been through this..
basing strength of schedule on 2008 records when the 2009 season is almost over is ridiculous, irrelevant and awfully transparent...as you only do it to excuse the pathetic play of the Dolphins. For example, Miami lost to a 6-7 Titan team that was 13-3 in 2008.

I believe I predicted an 8-8 season for your chokers, and make no mistake they did choke yesterday because they had all the momentum after that comeback, with no playoffs...Looks like I'm going to be pretty close. You know, sometimes it gets rather tedious being right all the time..

The Dolphins at least still have a chance. BIG FAIL!!!

17. Dolphins didn't look much better
not only don't they show up until the 4th quarter, but after coming all the way back (with luck), Chad #2 pulls a Chad #1 and chokes the game away. Congrats!! :toast:

14. Yep---we've been through it.
You state "Real Schedule" based on strength of schedule. You spout the Phins didn't play a "real schedule" last season because they had the 23rd easiest schedule.

You and Douche one started your yapping about "real schedule" when you found out the Phins had the hardest schedule in the league....hence your "real schedule" bullshit.

So don't give me your lying Bullshit about the strength of schedule.... You changed your whole tune when I called you out about the 49er's 2009 strength of schedule. (28th)--six spots easier that Miami's 2008 schedule.

After I asked you if the Niners had a "real schedule" in 2009....you immediately struck up a tune pretending strength of schedule was "ridiculous, irrelevant and awfully transparent".

And that my dear Upton---is why you are a Douche.

16. Keep digging..
Let me ask you a question...which team did the Dolphins actually meet yesterday, the 13-3 2008 Titans or the 2009 6-7 Titans?

Basing SoS on last year's records, particularly when we're 14 games into 2009, is nothing but an attempt on your part to gloss over the fact that while I've been right about the 2009 Dolphins' fall, you've been so far off it's nothing short of humiliating. I mean, didn't you claim this year's Dolphins were going to improve over 2008's 11-5?

Hey, if you believe I'm wrong, go ahead with some more of your sniveling. Otherwise, it's case closed..

You quacked that the Phins would be playing a "real schedule" in 2009.

Why would you ask that? Was it your assumption that they did not play one in 2008? How did you base that assumption?

You based it on strength of schedule you fucking Douche.

I'll ask you for the 50th time Douche.... Are the Niners playing a "real schedule" in 2009?

And hey, maybe they should invest in some stickum. How many fumbles yesterday?

Time to move on to your next crushing disappointment....the Sharks.

24. No Bad Losses
Right now, half the AFC is either 8-6 or 7-7. Six of those eight teams are sitting right at .500. So what's separating the Patriots -- who probably aren't appreciably better than the rest -- from the group?

It's actually fairly simple. They don't have bad losses. If you take records from this year up to this point into account, New England hasn't lost to a team that finished with a losing record since falling to the Dolphins during Nick Saban's final year in Miami, 2006. Before that? You have to go back to the bad Monday night loss in Miami in 2004.

And check this out: Tom Brady has never lost a game to an out-of-division opponent with a losing record. The last time the Patriots did so was in the last game Drew Bledsoe started and finished for the team in the 2001 season-opener against the Bengals. Two days later, the 9/11 tragedy happened.

Each of the teams to beat the Patriots this year are .500 or better right now.

Meanwhile, if you examine the pack, you'll see hard-to-explain losses left and right. Check it out:

DENVER (8-6): Washington, Oakland

MIAMI (7-7): Buffalo

JETS (7-7): Buffalo

JACKSONVILLE (7-7): Seattle

PITTSBURGH (7-7): Kansas City, Oakland, Cleveland, Chicago

Tennessee, Houston and Baltimore's struggles have been more a product of tough schedules, rough starts (see: Titans) and inconsistency. But that further illustrates one thing the Patriots seem to continue to do well: Show up every Sunday and, on those Sundays when they're better than their opponent, take care of business. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/extra_points/
