1. 5 Pac 1O schools in the top 25 isn't bad at all

Especially Stanford at #2. Remember there are 12O division I schools in College Football so to have 5 Pac 1O schools in the top 25 I don't feel makes them dumb-asses. :shrug:

If it were all the schools you'd have Stanford. That's it. As a conference the PAC-10 has to be one of the worst. Along with the SEC, of course.

I found a list and there are several Pac 1O schools in the top 32 and this list includes Ivy League schools and MIT.

Stanford performed the best on the APR measure with a mark of 984 out of 1000, a score that is 43 points higher than the average for other high-level football teams. That is not surprising, as it was the only school in the top 25 to receive public recognition from the NCAA for its academic success.

The players at Stanford are definitely not 'dumb as fucking stumps'..I don't believe the Big Ten has a school that can compete with the "Harvard of the West" academically.

As for Iowa, you're right, referring to them as an also ran is a bit harsh. ....Instead, I'll put them in a position much more in keeping with this past year: O-v-e-r-r-a-t-e-d

Georgia Tech is highly regarded academically, thought they would have better student athletes.

I'm also surprised Cincinnati did so well, but being from Cleveland I'm likely biased.

31. The graduation rate of atheletics should be compared to the rest

of the University. That will tell the tale more accurately...For instance if I said Maryland had a 50% rate that would sound bad..But thats what I was told was the ACADEMIC graduation rate when I started there...

You link doesn't work. Which is not surprising considering the opinion it expresses is incorrect. The Big Ten hasn't had a winning bowl season since 2002/2003:thumbsdown:......The Pac-10?>>LAST YEAR:thumbsup:..... Upton knows of what he speaks.

It's been two games ...against two very inconsistent Pac-10 teams. However, even if the Pac-10 ends up having a poor bowl season, it's only one year. That stands in sharp contrast to the Big Ten's PATTERN of losing bowl games through most of this decade.

Last night you had the 6th place Pac-10 team play the MWC 3rd place team. What does that prove? Cal has had only had a couple good wins all year. Their QB Riley has actually regressed since the beginning of the year. The Bears lost to Oregon by 39, USC by 27 and last night they were coming off a 32 point whipping by UW. Utah, like BYU the night before, was coming in with a team wide little man's complex...what happened didn't surprise me in the least.
