44-0 early in the fourth quarter. What a fucking disgrace. Talk about mailing it in.

2. I'm not watching it either, but it is the
Vikings/Giants game. Vikings have laid 44 on the Small Men from New York.

16. Who would had thunk it with a 40 year old retiree.
I wonder how many times Tebow will get knocked on his ass in the pros.

3. I can't remember a team that has fallen as far within a season as the Giants
From a 5-0 start that had some saying they were the best in their conference, and maybe the league, to 8-8 and being blown out in the last two games.

6. And with a "top 5 QB" and all...
The Giants are capable of playing well against anyone, but they're not consistent enough to be the best. This is especially true of the QB, who I still can fathom how people can consider one of the top 5 QB's in the NFL.

4. No matter how fashionable it is to hate him, Favre is really that good.

17. In some respects Favre is playing the best he has ever played.
Too bad he couldn't had had this year a few times after the first Super Bowl win with the Packers. He possibly could had won 1 or 2 more SBs.

10. It Should Be An Interesting Offseason For The Giants
They are where the Cowboys were a year ago.

11. Where are all the "running up the score is bad" people?
With 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, the Vikings up 34-0 go for it on 4th and goal and get the TD instead of the chip shot field goal. I haven't heard a word about it. Personally, I think if the Giants weren't going to show up, the deserve to be embarrassed, but not too long ago there were a whole bunch of people on the sports forum talking about how bad this is.

12. We're tired of talking about that. We've moved on to just basically
24-hour Favre bashing now.

14. Who Does That?
There are folks here that think there is such a thing as running up the score in the professional ranks?!?!?

No such thing.

"Oh, my FF running back got 4 touchdowns today? They really should've pulled him after the 2nd one."

19. Good point.
We finished our league in week 16. Week 17 is too unreliable when good teams that sit their starters. I'm sure there were a few Favre owners that were happy about this.

20. In terms of running up the score, my basic theory is don't do it in college
But go for it in the professional ranks.

You're getting paid millions, pay the price for not preparing if you're on the wrong end, and put on a show for the fans if you're the winning team.

21. I agree...
A professional team that loses by 14 (but could have lost by 40) may not get their heads out of their asses. A team that gets an old school whoopin' may rethink things. They're all professionals, getting played to play the game. If they don't want to get their feelings hurt, work harder. If the problem is coaching or management, beatings will expose that and force them to make a change, which is good for the fans. In professional sports, and especially in sports with a salary cap like football, there's no reason a team can't be competitive. Look at Tennessee after getting destroyed by the Pats, they changed the QB, worked harder, and got their shit together.

As far as amateur ranks go (college, HS and below), the teams don't have that much control over which players they have (especially in HS and below), and sometimes they're just flat out mismatched. If a top ranked college team schedules East Bumfuck State, it's ridiculous to put up 70 points just because they can.

22. Agreed
These are supposed to be professionals. The Giants quit 2 weeks ago so that's on them.
