Some of us are afraid to leave our IPOD or GPS in our vehicles and take them with us when we lock up.
Not so, Jerry Porter who proves that not every Darwin award winner has to be dead in order to win.
Check this out:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/19/report-jerry-porter-claims-theft-of-312000-in-jewelry/Former Raiders and Jaguars receiver Jerry Porter made plenty of money while playing pro football.
And he spent a nice chunk of it on jewelry.
And, according to RichLiebermanReport.com, Porter claims that $312,000 worth of it was stolen from his car last month in California.
He first made the report of the December 17 theft last week.
Porter was scheduled to meet with police today regarding the claim, but he canceled the session at the last minute.
Porter's car showed no evidence of a break-in, per Lieberman.
Porter, who was out of football in 2009 after spending eight seasons with the Raiders and one with the Jaguars, told the police he didn't report the theft right away because he'd been busy, and because he had shipped the car from which the items were stolen to Florida, where he'll soon be moving.
He might want to finalize that move sooner rather than later, because we get the sense that the cops in California might decide to press him to back up his claim of a six-figure theft.
OH - HE WAS BUSY!
