Personally, I think corporate sponsorship is a good thing in this case. Without it, the only people able to devote such time and effort to their sport would be ones from fairly wealthy families.

The Olympics, while it is noted are based on countries, the goal of the Olympics is to bring countries together, not divide them with nationalistic bs.

For one thing, athletes qualify through their own nation. The Austrians would have a dozen or more ski jumpers if it were done individually. Simone Ammann couldn't even try for a third goal in team jumping because Switzerland had only one other competitor.

My beef is the opposite. The jerseys should be more blatantly nationalistic, like the old days. Team events are fine in that regard but otherwise it's often difficult to distinguish.
