Tim Tebow tries to get everyone taking the Wonderlic with to pray
We're told that Tebow already has gotten a taste of the resistance he might face at the next level.

At the Scouting Combine, the Wonderlic exam is administered to players in groups. The 12-minute test is preceded by some brief instructions and comments from the person administering the test.

Per a league source, after the person administering the test to Tebow's group had finished, Tebow made a request that the players bow their heads in prayer before taking the 50-question exam.

Said one of the other players in response: "Shut the f--k up." Others players in the room then laughed.

7. LOL. Normally I don't endorse rudeness
but I'm glad to see others are getting tired of his Jesus Tebow act. Maybe someday he'll figure out not everyone shares his beliefs. But then considering the results from the Wonderlic exam, I guess he doesn't learn too fast...

8. I was curious about what's on that exam

Regarding Tebow I think it was reported he scored about average so I'm not sure what to say about using that score to determine if he is a slow learner or if it was in fact a bad score.

I found some sample questions which I don't think is the whole test and I'm not sure if actual players were faced with the same questions. Anyways I got 1 wrong but most of the answers were easy or maybe all or none of them--a grade school teacher always told us, "It's only easy if you know it."

Edit/It's just 15 questions. 50 questions is what the actual players take.

17. It's not all as bad as I thought - some of them made me look twice because
I couldn't believe it was that simple (e.g. the $0.10 rope) but others at least difficult enough to not be insulting. Not sure what this test has to do with football, however...

18. I think the actual questions may be more difficult
When I got to the second question it seemed so easy I was triple checking to make sure it wasn't a trick question.

10. Actually I think Tebow has a right to his beliefs
I'm not religious at all, but I don't see what mocking him over and over again proves..

11. Religion is personal
Edited on Wed Mar-24-10 08:31 AM by TZ
His whole come here and pray is actually quite offensive to a number of groups..Including I might add, very religious/orthodox Jews who consider it inappropriate to pray in secular places or Muslims who pray only at certain times a day or in a specific direction. Lets not even get into the fact that maybe some of the players don't believe in God but are afraid to say so publicallySo STFU Tebow is actually called for here--he's an arrogant little christian boy who needs to learn. Nobody has the right to shove their beliefs down others throat. And pampered prince Tebow needs to learn this.
Freedom of religion doesn't mean freedom to shove Christian values down everyone's throat!!

believe exactly as he does...and that's the root of intolerance.

29. You Don't Recognize. . .
. . .that his behavior is condescending and superior. The mocking is retaliation for someone who is mocking everyone else who is not as pious as he.

13. Tebow was equally rude
and arrogant and inconsiderate to effectively force his religious views upon others that presumably he barely know. And to praying before taking an intelligence test in particular strikes me as a far more egregious sin than saying a bad word.

but have better stats than Joe Montana.

20. Better stats?
Playoff game records

Big Game Marino...8-10

The great Joe Montana..14-5

Super Bowl wins

Marino..0

Montana..4

Sure, Joe had a better team around him, but a true "great" QB somewhere along the line would have taken his team upon his back and at least won something. Joe did that, even when all seemed lost...Super Bowl XXIII is a good example.

If you can't win in the post season, any personal cosmetic stats that Marino put up are basically irrelevant..

which mean little because ole "Big Game" never won a damn thing..

It also serves no purpose to speculate how many SBs Marino may or may not have won were he to have been lucky enough to be a member of the great 49er organization. Therefore, I won't engage in it...speculating on what might have been is for losers and amateurs. Just like you and Big Game Dan.

22. If the Browns draft Tebow, I'm done
I don't think he fits in Cleveland in any case. Cleveland is pretty much a working class Catholic city, not much in the way of megachurch-fundyism that I recall.

24. The way I heard it...
I heard an interview with Jim Florio from Pro Football Talk on the radio last night and Jim said Tebow called him to tell what happened. Apparently Tebow was talking with BYU's QB and not the group as a whole to pray. As far as the STFU deal, Tebow supposedly didn't hear it.

Someone who puts Bible Verses on his eyeblack is probably not someone who is going to quiety ask ONE person to pray with him. Believe me, I KNOW the type.

28. Florio also said that his original source stood by his statement
In his blog, Florio said that Tebow was very believable when he denied the story, but that his source was very reputable and stood by his story.
