Anybody else excited about The Masters today?

I know, I know, sports isn't very popular on DU, but Saturday's back nine was absolutely compelling.

And I never miss Sunday at The Masters. Don't intend to this time, either. I don't know what will happen, but it will be thrilling. And I still don't have ANY game around the greens after all these years.

I missed yesterday's round so I'm going to make up for it today. Seen rounds 1 & 2 but just the later portions aired on ESPN.

It just isn't realistic to expect a player of any caliber to be on top of his game after six months of the changes he's been through. Surely he's entitled to be even a bit of an emotional wreck. He knows that all he has to do is stay close, and this tournament will serve as both a testament to his mental toughness and an indictment of the overall quality of the rest of the field.

One thing about the Masters that's really great -- fewer commercials, fewer commercials breaks, and fewer special interest stories and time-filling features. Just golf. As it should be.

9. Phil Just pulled a Phil

Amazing shot from the pine straw with a tree close by, over the creek to within 5 feet for eagle....then misses the eagle putt. Did make birdie though

He really goes for it because he feels confident he can get it up and down if he pushed a drive left or right. Rough isnt all that thick and trees arent that big of a problem.

16. More proof that everything drifts back to the beginning

Phil was touted as potentially the player of the year for 2010 last October, then everyone got off the bandwagon based on a few mediocre performances. Big deal. Current form means nothing compared to overall ability. It's not how good are you playing, it's how good are you? The sportsbooks had Phil virtually even odds against Ernie Els in a head to head matchup, which was a joke.

Johnny Miller must be kicking himself. He was big on Phil's chances at the end of last year then abandoned ship in March and didn't even mention Phil as one of his picks for Augusta.
