Any other Minnesota Twins fans here?
Just wondering. Or, if you're at least a baseball fan, sound off!

And if you're a Twins fan...how about the Target Field debut? :)

1. Not a Twins fan, Marshall. Not really a baseball fan. The pace of the game, you see.

I had to laugh at the fact that you had a warmer day than the hideous Cub home opener. Were you there?

3. I wish!
Watched it live on ESPN. Here's the funny part: I don't live in Minnesota! I have spent every second of my existence in California, and yet I've been a rabid Twins fan since 2000. It's a fairly long story, but let's just say I love every conceivable thing about the team and they fit my personality as well as my politics. Sorry about the Cubs...I've got a friend who's been a fan since childhood, and when I told him a few days ago that they won against the Braves, he exclaimed, "I am absolutely surprised!"

11. Did you hear, Condem, that it was an Iowa boy who caught the first HR at Target Field?
They interviewed him live at the game and everything. Supposedly got himself Joe Mauer's game jersey (and I'm guessing more than a few tickets) for handing it over to the Twins for historical purposes.

4. I'd have to get a close-up of the face
But in that pic, not really. The expression is exaggerated, although granted the look on his face is hard to replicate. The original photo is one-of-a-kind.

7. Not really a baseball fan. But I do like my hometown Twins.
They are right there competing almost every year despite being a small market team. Target Field looks really nice; my wife got to tour it last week and said it's a very well-designed stadium. Not to mention the fact that it's LEED certified. Good read here:

8. It looked really nice from what I could see on TV yesterday.
Definitely a place I want to go catch a game at. Oh well. Someday. I'm more likely to go to see a Diamonback game at this point since thats where my Mayo doc is now...

13. Respect!
I'm always thrilled to meet a fan from those days. The Senators may not have had frequent success, but those players are legendary.

15. I've got an autographed Frank Howard photograph and poster!
A gem of a man. Too bad he had cub scout batting around him. It's a wonder he ever got a pitch worth hitting.

17. Hondo used to have to work in the off season as I recall
Some of the ballplayers actually got jobs at Giant Food as baggers etc.

10. I'm happy to see a small market team be competitive
Kudos to the Twins for opening strong. And to the Oakland A's too.

14. Kind of a semi Twins fan here
Once upon a time, they had a Class A ballclub here and I saw Mauer play while he was here. I am an avid hard core and (usually) frustrated Cubs fan, but I kind of adopted the Twins as my A.L. team due to their past affiliation with the River Bandits and because of the contraction of the Twins talk by Selig a few years ago.
