Favre had his ankle surgery in LATE MAY???

The other day, I posted, "Either the ankle's gone or he's sitting out the pre-season give it more time to heal."

Since then, I've learned that: Favre has denied texting retirement messages to anyone, The Vikings have made an offer, he says he can't run without pain--AND that he had his ankle surgery on MAY 22! May 22, when he KNEW the pre-season starts August 8, and that he'd have to be in training camp BEFORE then??? Why the hell didn't he have the surgery sooner?

Based on all this new information, I must amend what I posted:

"He's DEFINITELY planning to sit out the pre-season, and he TIMED his ankle surgery to give him a 'legitimate' excuse for doing so!"

I stand corrected.
