San Francisco's championship, the aftermath
From Chronicle Staff Writer Susan Slusser at Rangers Ballpark

There is still a large band of fans in orange and black chanting behind the dugout, and Giants players are still on the field celebrating with the fans. Edgar Renteria appears to be taking the MVP Trophy on a tour of the field, surrounded by television cameras.

This is one happy group. Some of the Giants are just sitting on the infield grass, still in uniform, soaking it in. And this is nearly an hour after the game.

A chant of "Beat LA" just went up. This is definitely a Giants crowd.

Here are some postgame notes and quotes:

**Renteria told Andres Torres he was going to hit one out before his three-run homer. Asked about that afterward, he said, "I've got confidence in me, but I was joking I was going to get it out. But it went out."
