On Tuesday, a day after the Giants won their first title since 1954 and their first since moving to San Francisco, President Obama called the organization to offer his congratulations and recalled the excitement he felt five years ago.
The President talked about the excitement of watching young stars like budding left-hander Madison Bumgarner and rookie catcher Buster Posey, and he was also taken with the dyed black beard of closer Brian Wilson. Obama said he wanted to find out if there really was magic in there.
Invitations were extended for the Giants to meet President Obama at the White House and for Obama to visit AT&T Park.
