2. Wrigley hosted a lot of football games

I know the Cardinals played quite a few there. It was interesting reading about it, how the dug-out was close to the endzone players would run into the wall covering it.

It was the Bears. The last college game was in 1938. That was a hell of a long time ago.

You should see how tight the right field end zone is. I think they bolted the uprights to the wall.

10. Within 7 years, wrigley Field will be gone

They are doing a football game there, although the bears used to play every home game there, and they are asking for public help with trying to "fix things" up. Daley and Quinn have both said they are not real sure about providing public funding. The Ricketts' will be building a new stadium in Naperville or somewhere in 6 or 7 years. Just my (possibly paranoid) take on the whole situation.

voters here in my city approved "Wrigleyville West" a spring training facility after telling voters it was either that or go to Florida. I thought HoHoKam Park is nice, and they got a practice field and facility down the street from there. All under this new ownership.

I just felt like pointing that out to go along with the Wrigley stuff. I felt it was related in a way, given the way the Cubs ownership deals with stadiums. I found in interesting in an article posted on another thread where he said that he no "plan B".

18. HoHoKam Park is nice.

The stadium subsidy thing has gotten out of hand. The NFL is now telling Atlanta that they won't get another Super Bowl, unless they build a new stadium. The Georgia Dome is only 18 years old. Does that mean the NFL thinks cities should build new stadiums every 18 years?
