Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress has been fired.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports is first reported, and the Vikings have confirmed, that Childress has been fired.

This morning the Vikings announced that Childress would meet the press for his regularly scheduled weekly press conference, which some assumed meant he was safe for at least another week.

But that assumption was incorrect: Childress is out.

13. I don't think Childress was ever a good coach.

The dysfunction of this team has been hidden for many years.

I live in Wisconsin and Childress sucked with the Badgers. All the Packer fans around here were very happy when the Vikings hired him because they knew he sucked. They should have hired Frazier when they hired Chilly. Glad Leslie gets a shot now.

Once Childress lost control of that locker room I knew he was gone.

He was never really in charge of the Beras. The players merely tolerated his presence. When they were good, he had nothing to do with it. And, when they weren't he wasn't capable of making a difference.
