I believe for a while the Cowboys had the same thing the Yankees had, a lot of love nationwide and hate, its the price thats paid for being good I guess. You see that with the Patriots now in the NFL, a lot of peole love em but a lot hate em as well. So Yankee hatred is and I admit this in my case a testament to their history, my dad was a New York Giants fan as a kid and while that interleague rivalry does not compare to that of you guys and the Dodgers, it was there. I wish we had a forth of the championships you guys have, the Yankees got a great history but when you appear in 40% of all the world series, people are gonna hate your guts and love you. Anyhow I hope we keep doing good and I hope in late season interdivisional games you guys act as a spoiler by beating up on the Red Sox for us.

however, I don't take great joy that Dallas sucked last year at the same time the Giants sucked. My team winning is far more important to me. That's my general point.

I want my team to do good first and foremost. While its nice to see our rivals suck, the team matters first and foremost to me, which is why I dont think I really even notriced that the Yankees in 97 werent as good as they were in 96 since I was loving the wire to wire season by the Orioles that year.

It's old-fashioned trolling. And the only reason it happens here so much is that there are enough cranky-style Yankee fans around that allow their goats to be gotten. And not just by DU posters. At the beginning of the season, a few Yankee fans dug this troll hole by starting their own goofy threads about the mass of Yankee haters, etc...

Planned ignoring goes a long way sometimes.
