Actually, the M's have won 8 out of 11, apparently. Shiggy looks shaky on the mound in the eigth, however.

And there is actually hope for the future with the new owner. Miller's a nice ballpark, and, even though I don't get back there often, it would be nice for the town to be able to get excited for once.

Shiggy did blow it. Nats up 6-3 now. Spivey actually pinch hit, got a walk and a run.

Another reminder of a stupid move by the Mariners: Dumping Bell for Jeff Cirillo.

7. Bell did come thru tonite but....

Offensively, he has been a real disappointment this year. Its just getting hidden by the fact that the rest of their lineup (minus Thome) has been kickin ass lately!

But it was a great game. As was last nights Phils-Rangers game. They raised ober $150k for charity last night with their 7 homeruns. The Phillies have made me a fan of baseball again.

I dont really remember him from Seattle. Im in Philly. But while watching him tonite I did remember him from somewhere. Didnt he have a few good seasons with some other team?

10. He's been around.

He was a key player when the M's won 116 in 2001. Clutch hitter that year, with decent D. The M's went and spent a ton of money on Cirillo, who never did squat, got hurt all the time, etc... etc... The fans in Seattle have never forgiven management for that.

He's not a great one, but he's usually done his job well, IMHO.
