Go figure. They had the pine tar feud the other night. Now Guillen is saying that Scioscia is a "piece of garbage" and he wants to beat the Angels "so bad." Forget Yankees-Red Sox, we got this. :shrug:

As for Brendan Donnelley: a ten-game suspension for a foreign substance on the glove? When guys throwing beanballs get five and guys involved in brawls get three? That's bullshit.

I'm disputing that ten days is a fair suspension, when players engaging in far more dangerous activities receive shorter suspensions.

11. I agree with what youre saying on that

I think its 10 games because of precedent, there was an incident in the 80's involving Joe Niekro I remember reading about where he was caught scaffling the ball. I think though, beanball war starters should be punished more than guys like Donnelly.

12. Obviously, beanball wars are much more dangerous to the players,

and so, the guy starting one deserves a longer suspension. The problem, I think, is that a lot of the time, beanball wars between teams start because of a legitimate pitch that gets too far inside and hits somebody and that pisses somebody off. Then it is a case of each side escalating the retaliation. That makes it difficult, or impossible to single out the one guy who started it.

It's easier, in the case of a pitcher doctoring the ball, to single out one individual guy for the suspension.

inside pitches are rarely bean balls. They usually thrown to hit in the back. This wouldn't harm someone and batting helmets are protective anyhow. I think you argument is a canard and I don't mean french for duck.
