Charlie Sheen donates funds to help Bryan Stow
Edited on Mon May-02-11 10:57 PM by Upton

Bryan Stow, the Giants fan who was beaten severely outside Dodger Stadium on March 31, got help from an unexpected source Monday: actor Charlie Sheen.

The Associated Press reported that Sheen will donate to Stow $20,000 in profits and donations from a San Francisco show.

Sheen's publicist, Barry Klarberg, told the AP that Sheen's performance on Saturday night in San Francisco, part of his "Violent Torpedo of Truth" tour, generated $9,000 in merchandise profits plus $4,000 in audience donations for Stow.

Sheen matched the $4,000 from the audience and kicked in $3,000 more to up the total to $20,000.

Good for Sheen. Almost $500,000 has been raised through numerous fundraisers and donations to help Stow and his family. Meanwhile, Stow has been off the sedation medication which has kept him in a medically induced coma since Friday, and so far hasn't suffered any further seizures like the last time doctors tried to revive him..However, he remains comatose and a hospital spokesperson said there is no guarantee he'll ever wake up..

2. Classy of him.
There's alot about Sheen I do not like, but this was very nice. He also seems to be a huge baseball fan, as I've seen pictures of him catching a game at just about every ballpark near his ridiculous tour stops.

3. Bryan Stow needs additional surgery..
Bryan Stow, the Giants fan who was severely beaten outside Dodger Stadium on March 31, will undergo surgery to drain fluid from his brain.

Stow's family wrote on its blog that the surgery could occur within the next few days.

Stow's brain has been collecting fluid, and a shunt needs to be put in the cranium at the center of the brain, according to the blog. The shunt will be snaked down through his stomach in hopes that his abdomen will absorb the drained fluid.
