though he might be done for the day with a 109 pitch count. Nice to see him on target again.

1. That was the Timmy we all know and love.
I think Bumgarner's meltdown the other night was a wakeup call for everyone in the rotation not just MadBum (Vogelsong excepted). The Giants have been decimated by injuries this season and until the anemic offense starts producing consistently, the pitching's going to need to carry this team even more than before.
No room for error. Hopefully JSanchez got the memo. We'll see tomorrow night against Cleveland

2. That's the guy Giants fans love to watch....

and everybody else hates to go up against. He had everything working yesterday. 30th time in Lincecum's career with double digit strikeouts..he's lost only one of those. Good to see him back on track.

Stewart appears to work well with Tim. Neither he nor Whiteside can hit worth a damn, but at least Stewart can block balls in the dirt and throw runners out..

4. I wonder if we'll see Hector Sanchez
Top catching prospect at AAA Fresno. Caught Barry Zito in his last rehab and Zito raved about the guy.

Reported by Henry Schulman of the Chronicle:

"He's beyond his years," Zito said. "He's got a good idea on mixing pitches. We threw changeups to lefties and cutters in to righties. I definitely shook him, but I like the way he mixes and the way he receives the ball. The kid is so young, and he rakes" at the plate. He is hitting .299 with eight homers and 52 RBIs combined between San Jose and Fresno.

Zito said catchers sometimes struggle to receive his big curveball properly and frame it in the strike zone, but not Sanchez. Plus, Zito said, he throws well. "I threw one curveball ... with a guy running, and (Sanchez) threw him out."

BTW, Zito pitched a two-hit complete game in his final AAA start.

5. When His Timing Is Right, He's Filthy
There are pitches that not one player in the game can hit when he's on. If he makes no mistakes, he can make good hitters look silly. I watched the highlights on MLB. He had guys waving at balls 5 inches high and swinging at balls that bounced behind the plate.

Filthy.

3. He was beyond dominant.
For awhile there it looked like Wilson was going to completely erase Timmy's work though. Leave it to the Twins to not plate a guy from 2nd with no outs.
