Eagles swoop past Cowboys to get top CB Nnamdi Asomugha
A surprise team has reportedly landed Nnamdi Asomugha, and it's bad news for the Cowboys.

The NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles have come to terms with the top free agent, NFL Insider Jay Glazer and NFL.com writer Jason La Canfora reported. The deal is rumored to be for five years and $60 million.

Owner Jerry Jones had no comment, when asked by KRLD-FM Friday.

"We're negotiating with some free agents," Jones said. "Since this thing is by the minute, it's highly competitive. I really don't want to make any committment that might influence that one way or another. No one thought we could be active in the super area of free agency. ... We're going for it."

Jerry is such a dork.

I'm sure there must be a single-A team out there that you can root for!

5. Any bad news for the Cowboys is good news for the rest of the world.
Fuck you Jerry Jones! Now the question is....Do we trade Asante Samuel or merely have the best defensive backfield in the league?

10. Clearly you're the only jealous one right now.
Jason Babin, DRC, Nnamdi, Vince Young as backup, and Hunter Pence with the Phillies. Tough day for the haters!

13. Not a big football fan I guess?
Or are you just clinging to the glory days of the past because the present isn't looking so good for your team? Yep, I think that's it. I don't care if the Eagles have yet to win a Super Bowl, we've made some good moves in the last few days that have made me and other Birds fans very excited for the season. Sorry your boys can't say the same.

15. So the Eagles behaving like Snyder
Is a good thing. Got it. Congrats on getting coach killer Vince Young too. I'm sure his humble bearing and Vicks ego DeSean Jacksons selflessness will work well. I am really astonished by the double standards here- if the Redskins signed these high profile players it would only be met with scorn. I smell 8-8 for Philadelphia

16. The Redskins don't have a great track record with big name moves.
And they tend to overpay. Despite the T.O drama in '05, he had a great first season with the Eagles and helped them get to the Super Bowl. Asante's addition in '08 helped the defense force more turnovers and we almost got back to the Super Bowl. You can rip on guys' personalities all you want, but Vick and Jackson have so far only strengthened the team and while I'm not thrilled about Desean's holdout, I think once we get it solved it'll be another big year for him. As for VY, he's excited to be joining this team, he respects Andy Reid, and he's the BACKUP.

To say that a team with an explosive offense and a newly revamped defense is going to do worse than they did a season ago doesn't seem to have much logic. I'd be willing to place a friendly avatar pic bet on the Eagles doing better than 8-8 this season.

17. Not from me
Either Revis or Nnamdi Asomugha is the best lock down corner in the league, it really is like a coin flip which one is better. He would be a great pickup for either team.

I think Rodgers-Cromartie was a great pickup for Philadelphia, I enjoyed him when he was with Arizona. Terrific speed. Hell I think Philadelphia may have upgraded their backup position with VY but there isn't a lot out there on Kolb. Hope he works out.

8. The Young pickup was good and so is this.
Eagles fans should be happy. The nice thing about the Eagles picking up Vince Young is that he will fit into their offense.
