Braylon Edwards signs with 49ers
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- From one former Michigan man to another, Jim Harbaugh is asking Braylon Edwards to grow up and be accountable for his actions. Like they were taught in Ann Arbor.

:eyes:

Edwards is asking for a chance to contribute with the 49ers under Harbaugh.

San Francisco signed the wideout to a $3.5 million, one-year contract Thursday, and he joined his new team on the practice field for the first time -- albeit a little late and wearing No. 81, the number formerly worn by Terrell Owens.

I have no clue how to handicap the 49ers for 2011. Acceptable? Mediocre? Disappointing?

5 or 6 wins, perhaps?

1. 49's and Skins seem to be twin franchises
in that they seem to be making the same damn dumb moves in signing. Probably both will be very bad this year. Though the Niners will have a better record in an easier division

3. I was looking at the schedule
49ers don't face any pushovers except maybe the Browns, and even they're a team on the rise. Hard to say about the Seahwaks -- another team in major transition, but I think they'll split the series with them as well as the Cardinals. So there's three wins right there. And maybe another one or two if they get a lucky bounce.

Hey, you know what? If another lousy season gets them Andrew Luck I'm all for it.

2. Cardinals were in the market for him
Disappointed they couldn't land him. They need a serious replacement for Steve Breaston who signed with Kansas City.

4. If he wasn't happy in Cleveland,
I don't think he'll be happy in SF either. At least it's a small-money one year deal, so maybe that will be enough incentive to get him to play well... or at least as well as he can given the QB situation.
